Radio Today’s competitor “Radio Foorti”, Dhaka (88.0 FM from Sep'07) presented Top-100 songs of 2006 ; on the basis of listener’s requests (mail/sms). Sponsor for the chart show was mobile company Aktel & the “Aktel Radio Foorti Top-100” was presented by RJ Lubaina ,Nusrat & Laura on 2nd & 3rd January’07 ( 2 p.m.-6 p.m.)@ Radio Foorti ,Dhaka.So why not take look at the highlights of the hit list? Legend late Mahmudunnabi’s daughters Samina-Fahmida have total 6 hits, 5 of them are duet, Fahmida Nobi’s solo single Akash Hobo is @ No. 61, while her 3 duet hits, all from “Ek Mutho Gaan” CD (with Bappa Mojumder), are at No. 8-Mon Poboner Ghuri, No.25-Matal Onuvob & 45-Haate Dio Rakhi. Without doubt Baul Shah Abdul Karim is “Jibonto Kingbodonti”, besides winning two life time achievement awards(“Daily Prothom-Alo” & “Citycell”); he also wins music lover’s heart by his rich lyrics & strong compositions. “Ronger Dunia” is the only song that featured twice in the top-100.(Kaya’s version is @36 & Maqsood’s version@89). Singer Milon Mahmud draws everyone’s attention by singing Nescafe theme song “Cholo Shobai”@21,a distinctive Habib-composition. Hip-Hop composer Double "R" (Rajib Rahman) and co. are successful with their “Stoic Bliss” & “Disciples” projects. “Shanti Melena” by Disciples is @72 while Stoic Bliss becomes runner up in the top-100 with “Aabar Jigay “. Their “Mayabi Chokh” is @57 & “Chow Mei Fun”@73, all from their CD titled “Light Years Ahead”. Their music is really “Light Years Ahead” from the traditional music scene & they should release few more high quality hip hop albums to set a new trend.
